Running A Business

Currently writing this I am in the middle of taking over a business. To give some background going into this week I was offered by the previous owner to help him start his painting business back up again after he had taken a break from it. Immediately I put my two week notice in for the job that I was working for at the time and I had no idea what I was doing. I had no business experience and no money saved up but somehow it still worked out.

I believe that is what everyone who is considering starting a business needs to do. You cannot just put one foot in and wait for things to happen. You need to throw everything you have at it even if you fail in the end. You need to activate that fight or flight in you that no matter what you business is going to succeed. There are so many talented people that I know that want to start a business and maybe even some are doing it on the side. The only thing that is holding back is their fear and laziness.

With that being said I can’t say that business is booming for me right now. Currently the business is in a very dry period. It can be very discouraging but one thing that the past owner of this business told me was that you need to beat the ground. Meaning there are people that want your business but they just don’t know it yet. It is your job to show them why they need your product. Whatever you have to do, whether you have to go door to door or advertise online. Right now that is what I’m holding on to. This statement is what pushing me through. I refuse to go back to working for someone.

That is all I have to say on that right now I will add on to everything with more detail.
